We welcome you to take the time to observe all the finished bronze sculptures. I want to give thanks

to the Creator for the inspiration and the abilities to express in such a form by human hands a creative

expression of some of the accomplishments of His hands and ability. I have a Western, Wildlife and

Religious Bronzes to express such as this.

The bronze statue by human hands is another way to gain the revelation of God's creative

abilities found and seen in the beauty of the creatures which manifest forth his needed glory.

After an indvidual statue was developed into a clay form it was submitted unto the foundry.

There it has gone through the art of the "Lost Wax Process". That is what it was called after a

known event came about in Third Millennium B.C. It was somewhere between the Black Sea

and the Persian Gulf, where an artist crafted a vision in beeswax, then covered it in liquid clay

and cooked it in a fire. In the fire the wax was lost [ melted ], replaced by an empty space. Then

there was tin and copper-alloys of bronze that was gathered and heated. Once melted the metal

was poured into the cavity of the fire hardened clay. After the metal was cool, then the sculptor

knocked the clay from the metal and the results being the first bronze piece cast.

"...Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hands..." ( Jer. 18: 6b ).

ABOUT US

              ARTIST: MEL COOLEY

WHO WE ARE?...HOW WE BEGAN?

Sculpturing is something I have enjoyed doing for several years.  Before this in the past years I have been involved with Ministry duties which have taken us to Fifty-One different Countries in teaching Seminars and other Mission works. I have written some Eleven Published Books. I also have written two Theatrical Plays... A Drama and Musical. In the Music Field I have some 44 Published Songs. Yet in Sculpturing it was what I must call a surprise to me. [ How can that be? ]

About three years ago someone handed me a handful of molding clay and i received it with nothing particular in mind...until as I began to work with it, I saw some things begin to take shape. The first was the head and body of my Grandson while looking at his picture. I took the liberty of sending it to my daughter and as she opened for the Grandson he immediately exclaimed; "Hey Mom, That looks like me!".  After I heard that I began to do some others. Now I realize it would be hard for you, perhaps to believe that "Story". Yet...I do! For it isn' t:  "The evidence in the puddin"...but evidence in the clay....so on we go...

 Who We Are

Connection with Texas Society of Sculptors have brought us together with many other gifted and experienced Artists to learn and move together in showing choice works to the Public with many interesting Arts minded persons. Also the joy of some percentage sales of our art works of Sculpturing proceeds will go to Snow Leopard Trust for the saving the lives of one animal called an endangered species of animals  in the Asian Area of the World.
